Founded in 2006 by someone with a background in RCMP digital forensics, Alt-Tech operates out of Sherwood Park, supporting financial service firms, insurance agencies, law firms, and manufacturing companies across Western Canada. More than 160 businesses rely on the company for managed IT, cybersecurity, cloud services, and backup and data recovery.

Work also includes virtual IT manager and vCIO arrangements for clients who need ongoing technology direction without hiring in-house staff, along with security audits, incident response planning, and security awareness training. The company won a 2025 Consumer Choice Award.
