Altered Vision Studios

Altered Vision Studios handles both sides of a production: the camera, audio, and editing work that builds a scene, and the makeup, prop building, and costuming that populate it with characters and creatures. Based in Von Ormy, Texas, the studio serves the entertainment industry alongside individual consumers, treating a cinema shoot and a smaller personal project with the same set of services. A second location is set up at The Parish Arts Center in San Antonio, run in conjunction with Kaz Creations.

Production work covers camera operation, photography, audio recording, digital editing, and digital compositing, while the special effects side focuses on practical techniques: lifecasting, sculpting, molding, and application of prosthetics for makeup effects, plus prop building and costuming. Free quotes are offered for any type of production or product, and the studio lends out its own resources, including cameras, audio recording gear, and a commercial utility van, to people looking to create.

Beyond client production work, Altered Vision Studios runs hands-on training through special effects workshops, including a session on applying facial prosthetics presented by Miguel Cantu. The studio has also developed original content, among it an anthology of horror short stories narrated through a decaying artificial intelligence terminal, pairing its production and effects capabilities in a single project.
