Founded in Marana in 1989 by Bill Starr, a University of Arizona Radio and Television graduate, Anstar Productions Group has built its work around keeping every stage of a project in-house rather than outsourcing pieces to outside vendors. Katie Caravello-Starr joined in 1996 and helped grow the operation into a full in-house marketing agency. Clients have included Google, the University of Arizona, UMC, Make-A-Wish Foundation, American Cancer Society, the Tucson Association of REALTORS, Dr. Jaw Orthodontics, C-Span, Catholic Community Services, and the Tucson Festival of Books.
Projects run from creative concepting and scriptwriting through storyboards, live-action shooting, and post-production editing, paired with media planning and buying. Website work covers both frontend and backend development, a service Anstar has offered since the early days of the World Wide Web. Adobe Master Suite applications support branding and visual production, and the studio also builds full 3D environments with character development and rigging. As a Google Trusted Photographer, Anstar creates street view virtual tours for local businesses.
On set, the company shoots film and video in High Definition, 4K, and 8K, often using multiple cameras across a single event or production. Its production history includes thousands of videos made for weddings, mitzvahs, anniversaries, and other live events, alongside commercial and organizational client work. Arizona Daily Star readers named Anstar Best Web Design Company, Best Real Estate Photographer/Videographer, and Best Business Consulting/Marketing Company for five consecutive years.
