Appdrawn works on bespoke software development, legacy system modernisation, mobile app development and database development, building products it describes as fully fit for purpose rather than off-the-shelf. Founded as a consultancy in 1999 in Watford, Hertfordshire, the agency has since taken on clients such as Oxford International Education Group and counts Aspire's Lisa Corbridge among those who have given feedback on its work.

The technical core of the business is database simplification: taking complex databases and rebuilding them with SQL-based technologies alongside UX design led features, so that the interface and the underlying data structure are designed together. Beyond that, services extend across application, frontend and backend development, systems integration, data warehousing, ETL and ELT pipelines, and BI dashboards, covering both the software itself and the data infrastructure feeding it.

The company has grown from its original UK base, opening an additional office in Barcelona in 2013, doubling in size in 2020, and moving into a larger UK office in 2022. A rebrand with a new logo and website followed in 2023. Appdrawn holds Green Mark Level 1 accreditation and now operates from its two offices in Watford and Barcelona, running UK and Spain-based teams across the same project work.
