Founded in April 2010 by four friends in Warsaw, apreel has grown into a 350-plus-person team with more than 400 projects and 14 years of experience concentrated in insurance and banking. Those two sectors remain the firm's core competencies, shaping the kind of software it builds and the clients it works alongside.
Work spans application development, systems integration, microservices and APIs, product design, UX research, and frontend and backend development, backed by IT staff augmentation for clients running scrum-agile projects that need fast, flexible delivery of engineers. A microservice architecture underpins much of the output, chosen specifically to keep deliverables flexible and extensible as insurance and banking systems evolve and connect to new channels.
On the insurance side, apreel has built a claim-handling service comprising First Notification of Loss, a Claim Segmentation Engine, Self-assessment Fastrack, and Claim Status modules, alongside a service that enables remote video assessment of an insured object during claim handling. It has also delivered an online vehicle insurance sales platform that lets customers calculate premiums and purchase policies directly through the web, and has launched several SaaS services for the insurance industry, drawing on experience building highly available, bespoke web applications for both customer self-service and back-office operations.
