On-site and remote ASL interpreting for education, medical, legal and business settings

ASLIS provides on-site sign language interpreters for Deaf, DeafBlind, hard of hearing and hearing individuals across Minnesota, North Dakota and western Wisconsin, with Video Remote Interpreting (VRI) available nationally for both ASL and spoken language. Based in Golden Valley, MN and founded in 1995, the agency contracts with over 300 American Sign Language interpreters and maintains a bilingual English/ASL staff.

Interpreting work spans education, medical, business, legal, DeafBlind, platform/conference and performing arts settings. Interpreters hold national certification and follow the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) Code of Professional Conduct along with HIPAA requirements, and Certified Deaf Interpreters (CDIs) are available for assignments that call for them. ASLIS also runs 24/7 emergency on-call interpreting for current contracts and serves as an approved sponsor for RID continuing education (CEU) activities.

A Deaf Advisory Board (DAB) advises the company on a quarterly basis, and ASLIS has partnered with DHHS to support community events. Its affiliate, Dynamic Communications, Inc. (DyCom), offers training for sign language interpreters, Deaf mentors, businesses and organizations on Deaf culture, ASL and professional development.
