ClutchPlay Games builds original and work-for-hire titles from its Portland, Oregon studio, founded in 2012 by veterans of EA, Maxis, ngmoco:) and 2K Games. The company operates as an independent game developer while also functioning as a full-service development agency, taking on projects for both games and standalone mobile applications across smartphones, tablets, PC and Mac.

Production runs on Unity, Java, Objective C, C++ and a proprietary native engine, giving the studio flexibility across original IP and client work-for-hire assignments. Services span the full project arc: game design, concept development, prototyping, production and project management, software development, graphic design, and sound and music design. For clients needing more than build-out, ClutchPlay also handles UX design, tools development, game promo videos, and consulting on iOS, Android, Mac and PC projects.

The studio's debut title, Little Chomp, was selected as one of six featured games at the 2013 PAX East Indie Showcase, an early marker of the original-content side of its business. That combination of in-house game creation and outsourced development work has shaped the studio's approach since founding, with co-founders' backgrounds at major publishers informing how projects move from concept through production for both games and applications.
