CodeRed builds and hosts websites on the Python, Django, and Wagtail stack, working with marketing agencies, IT departments, small businesses, and nonprofits based out of Cleveland, Ohio. The company was formed in 2013 out of frustration with corporate IT failures and marketing agency mis-fires, aiming to be a different kind of vendor for clients who had been burned by both.
Work spans frontend and backend development, headless CMS builds on Wagtail, and web hosting and migrations, including managed hosting and cloud hosting on AWS, Azure, and GCP. CodeRed was an early adopter of Wagtail CMS and has grown into one of the more established Wagtail vendors in the US, pairing the platform with marketing sites for agencies and standalone builds for small business and nonprofit clients.
Beyond client projects, CodeRed contributes directly to Wagtail's core development and publishes several Wagtail extensions used by the broader community. That involvement in the open-source project informs how sites are built and maintained for clients, from initial development through ongoing hosting and migrations.
