Greenovate Boston

Greenovate Boston is an initiative spearheaded by Mayor Martin J. Walsh to tackle global climate change and eliminate pollution, aiming to transform Boston into a healthy, thriving, and innovative city. The initiative is a key component of the City's Climate Action Plan, which sets ambitious goals to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by by 2020 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2050.

As a community convener and connector, Greenovate Boston plays a pivotal role in fostering collaboration between residents, professionals, and city officials. The organization leads efforts in communication, events, and relationship-building to ensure the successful implementation of climate initiatives. Notable programs include Carbon Free Boston, Climate Ready Boston, and Zero Waste Boston, each focusing on different facets of sustainability and resilience.

The team at Greenovate Boston includes the Director of Communications and Community Engagement, the Greenovate Boston Outreach Manager, and various City of Boston policy and program experts. Together, they work under the guidance of the Environment, Energy and Open Space Cabinet, led by Chief Christopher Cook and Director of Climate and Environmental Planning, Alison Brizius, to drive the city's environmental agenda forward.
