AKEA Web Solutions, founded in Lansing, Michigan in 2010, is the track record behind the consulting now practiced under the Ash Harris name: 13 years and more than 800 projects shipped, built on a web design career that started in 1999. The practice runs as a solo digital strategist and AI practitioner working with small businesses that need senior-level direction without hiring a full-time executive.
Services cover digital strategy, AI strategy and governance, website design and redesign, accessibility design, and security audits and risk assessment. Much of the engagement model is fractional, acting as an outside CMO or advisor. A consistent thread is digital risk: applying AI to surface accessibility and security exposure on a website before it becomes a liability, rather than addressing those issues separately after launch.
Between 2018 and 2023, the consultant served on the W3C Education & Outreach Working Group and separately produced and appeared in a nationally-aired segment on web accessibility. Locally, they ran a Lansing networking event called The Drinking Lunch for seven years.
