In addition, Ploughshares is constructing a new building that will serve as a showcase for its products and provide classroom space. This structure is set to be the greenest building in Alameda, featuring straw bale walls, a living roof, a gray water recycle system, and solar power.

Located just a short walk from the Alameda – Main St Terminal, Ploughshares Nursery is supported by organizations like the Bonita Gardening Club, Yahoo Employee Foundation, and the City of Alameda/CBDO. The nursery is open Wednesday through Sunday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, offering a welcoming space for community members to learn and grow together.
