Brand identity, print, annual reports, and website design for Alaska organizations

Poetica is a design studio based in midtown Anchorage that takes on projects for small and large businesses, brands, organizations, nonprofits and individuals across Alaska. Its project list spans brand identity and logo design, print design, annual reports, book design and layout, packaging design, and website design, work that ranges from a single business card to a full published report.

The studio was founded by Emily (Kurn) Tallman, an Anchorage-based graphic designer, writer, musician and creative strategist. Before starting Poetica, Tallman worked as an art director and senior account executive at Thompson & Co. Public Relations in Anchorage, experience that shaped an approach to design grounded in both visual craft and client strategy. Her design work has been recognized annually in the American Institute for Graphic Arts Alaska design contest.

Tallman holds a bachelor's degree in theater arts from Brandeis University and a Master of Fine Arts in poetry from the University of Alaska Anchorage, a background that informs the studio's attention to narrative and language in projects like annual reports and book layouts. Poetica operates out of the Denali Towers in midtown Anchorage, working directly with Alaska clients on identity, print, and web projects that require both strategic thinking and finished, printable design.

About this agency on Agency List

Poetica holds an Agency List Score of 73 out of 100.

That score is higher than 45% of the 36,919 agencies Agency List has assessed so far.

The Agency List Score measures how well an agency documents its work in public: named clients, quantified outcomes, and whether those outcomes are attributed to the agency rather than to the client.

It does not measure client satisfaction, price, or availability.
