Soleer builds websites and custom applications for a mix of Austin-area and small business clients, including Turner Residential Development, Card My Yard Design, Tattoo Goo, and DoorMatX, a company producing and selling high-end doormats. The agency opened its doors as a sole proprietorship in 2006 and later incorporated as Soleer, LLC, working since then from Austin, TX on web design, development, and custom software projects.
Work centers on matching the platform to the project: WordPress for clients who need a user-friendly content management system, Drupal when a build calls for more industrial-strength infrastructure, and custom-coded applications when off-the-shelf tools fall short. Development extends into mobile app work, backend and frontend development, and e-commerce builds, with attention paid to making sites function properly on phones and tablets rather than just desktop browsers.
Past projects show the range of that platform work. Turner Residential Development launched on WordPress with a custom template, while Card My Yard Design was built on Python and Django to support e-commerce functionality. Tattoo Goo's site also runs on WordPress with a custom template, and DoorMatX's build used WordPress CMS with template customization to support its doormat retail business. Soleer's founder, Boone, traces his development background to childhood, writing his first computer programs at age seven, continuing through computer science coursework in high school, and later studying at the University of Texas at Austin.
