The Design Works

The Design Works operates out of Woodbine, Maryland, working with retail businesses, professional services firms, associations, and startups on brand building, web development, graphic design, and video production. Rather than positioning itself around a single channel, the agency describes its work as integrated digital marketing, pairing traditional platform marketing with digital advertising, email marketing, and visual media production for clients that need both a market presence and the materials to support it.

The agency organizes its process around four stages it calls define, design, direct, and deliver, moving projects from strategy and creative concepting through production and final delivery. Services span web development and hosting, website design, brand strategy and positioning, video production and motion work, and traditional print alongside digital advertising, letting a single engagement cover both a client's site and its supporting campaign materials.

Past work reflects the range of industries served: managing marketing, promotional, and presentation materials for John Kennedy Consulting; supporting garden center and landscape businesses such as Dambly's Garden Center in southern New Jersey and Wentworth Nursery & The Project Center in Maryland, the latter spanning two retail stores, a landscape design center, and a contractor wholesale yard; building out a daily money management brand for Bellavissa; and producing creative for niche product lines like Wet Nose Greetings' hand-illustrated pet portrait cards and Wagging Tail Portraits' custom hand-painted pet portraits on canvas, glass, and print.
