CodeFirst is a UK software company that maintains, takes over and modernises business software that someone else built. We work with IT managers and senior managers at organisations of 50 people or more whose systems have become costly or worrying to run: a supplier who has gone, a developer who has left, software going out of support, a system nobody understands. We secure the code and access, prove we can release, then support and modernise the system in stages. We also build new systems at a fixed price.

Services: software maintenance and support under a monthly arrangement with agreed response times; taking over existing systems, with the build, release and restore proven before anything is changed; legacy modernisation of .NET, SQL Server and Access systems in stages while they stay in use; new internal systems, portals and integrations at a fixed price agreed before work starts; SQL Server performance and administration; cloud migration; and AI added to existing systems.

Technology: .NET Framework and .NET, SQL Server, ASP.NET Web Forms and MVC, Access, Azure, and the JavaScript front ends of the last fifteen years. Our longest-running system, OpenIRIS, has been developed and supported for research institutions since 2014 and handles more than 690,000 bookings a year. Founded in 2012 and based at 11 Brindleyplace, Birmingham, working across the UK and in Europe.
